All About Watercolor
Watercolors are a unique and versatile paint. They are known for their transparency, which allows light to pass through the paint and reflect off the paper, creating a luminous effect. There are numerous techniques in creating different textures in watercolor such as wet on wet, wet on dry, glazing, and dry brushing. I use many of these techniques to create different fur textures and patterns, and materials such as leather collars, accessories, water, grass, etc. Due to the quick drying time watercolor requires your full attention and quick decision making when working with multiple colors and creating gradients. I have worked professionally creating watercolor pet portraits for 8 years and I continue to learn and evolve my skill with each painting.
